Celine Dion is in our car
We were driving up to mom and dads for Thanksgiving when it all started. An hour and a half drive can cause crazy fun to happen.
Scott says," Hey Cambria sing that new Celine Dion song , Taking Chances." She proceeds to put her earpiece in her ear from the i-pod and start singing. She has great pitch. I'm a bit envious. Then Marissa was next. Her voice is so sweet and I feel tears come to my eyes. The family was begging me to join in but I adamantly refused. Scott says proudly, "I'll sing it!"
Hearing Scott, or any man, belt out Celine's song is really pretty scary. Because the notes are so high Scott was forced to scream them to hit them and even then I don't think you could say he was reaching them. The girls were laughing hard by now and I was merely covering my ears to survive.
Somehow after hearing Scott's version it didn't seem like such a bad idea to give it a try so, you guessed it, I sang. I am no Celine Dion. Never have been, never will be and there is actual proof of that now. After I got done with my rendition Scott revealed the taped version of me singing on his video. He secretly recorded me while I was concentrating on hitting the notes! Ugh!
Well of course he did. I really wouldn't expect any less from him. What was I thinking? I laughed. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, pretending I was Celine, that is.
